- NV Boizel Brut Reserve (Champagne): Lots of green apple, brioche, & almond, but maybe even just a little more purity. $45 A-
- 2016 Chateau de Cary Potet Premier Cru Les Burnins (Montagny): A peachy, hedonistic, seabreeze-feeling and seaside-view sipper. $48 B+
- 2018 Pieropan Soave Classico (Veneto): Fresh, friendly, and just plain f*cking good. $17 B+
- 2018 Col Vetoraz Prosecco Superiore di Valdobbiadene Brut (Veneto): A panoply of apple-pickin’ delight awaits you and your beleaguered wallet. $20 B+
- 2016 Donnafugata ‘Fragore’ Contrada Montelaguardia Rosso (Etna): Wild in all of the best ways, from its berries-in-the-bush bottom to its field-full-of-violets nose. $70 A-
- 2019 Domaine Bousquet Sauvignon Blanc (Tupungato): More tropical bang for the buck is unlikely to be had. $10 B
- 2017 The Hess Collection Allomi Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley): Dear Lord, forgive us our oaky sins, for we are both tasty and sexy… $30 B+
- 2016 Newton Vineyard Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley): At once deep and totally accessible, the term A-for-effort pops immediately to mind. $190 A
- 2018 Anaba Turbine White (Sonoma Valley): Fitting flowers, vivaciousness, bite, & body into a delicious – and intellectual – jigsaw puzzle. $32 A-
- 2016 Anaba ‘Westlands’ Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast): Just-ripened cherries, with stems still attached, served next to black tea. $60 A-
