Tenuta di Burchino 2010 Il Burchino Toscana

Tenuta di Burchino 2010 Il Burchino Toscana

Tenuta di Burchino is located in northern Tuscany, in the hills outside Pisa.  I’ve has some great wines from this producer, in particular, their Genius Loic IGT from their “Le Corti” vineyard. They’ve also produced some good Chianti Superiore as well.

The Il Burchino is their best bottle for quality and value. A blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, this is very sleek and international in style. This estate-grown wine is a Super Tuscan in all senses of the word.

Licorice and vanilla on the nose, this Tuscan bottle is full-bodied and chewy on the palate with flavors of dried cherry, lactose, and milk chocolate. A finish moves towards leather and crushed sage.

This isn’t the most complex bottle, but it’s flavors and texture are built to impress. I’d pair this with a grilled ribeye steak finished with olive oil and sea salt.
